What partners say about the work.

Reflections from leaders and organizations who have partnered with Alchemvi on strategy, trust-based practice, and movement-aligned philanthropy.

Juliet Le organizing alongside farmworkers with TODEC

Juliet Le is the rarest combination of someone whose roots are equally deep in philanthropic ecosystem grantmaking strategy AND the communities that philanthropy often needs to hear better, including immigrants, artists, diverse learners, and communities of color. My experience as an ED and program leader in multiple regions has shown me that the best philanthropy strategy leaders are those who know what’s changing on the ground in service; those who can hear and evaluate which needs are not being met well enough; and those who can help investment find impact by bridging ecosystems and helping everyone speak the same language with curiosity - trustees, stakeholders, community leaders, CBO executives. I’ve seen Juliet’s expertise up close as a grantmaker, CBO board member, statewide arts leader, facilitator, trainer, and community convener. I think of Juliet on my short list of thought leaders in progressive philanthropy I’d follow to know where things will go in a transitional moment for community investment strategy. I have the highest esteem for her personal and professional commitment and integrity in helping trust based philanthropy and family foundations sustain while walking the walk and maintaining durable, mutually accountable relationships with community organizations. We need leaders like Juliet Le to shape the adaptive capacity of philanthropy and family foundations at a time where we critically need better, more just ecosystems for the world ahead of us.

    David Song

    Nonprofit Executive Leader, Chicago

I had the privilege of working closely with Juliet during her time as a Program Officer at the Satterberg Foundation and as the Co-Chair of the Washington Immigrant and Refugee Funders Collaborative, and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the most visionary, committed, and values-aligned partners I’ve ever collaborated with. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, when many institutions and foundations were still finding their footing, Juliet was already advocating for something deeper—centering healing, care, and resilience for nonprofit leaders on the frontlines. She championed and entrusted me to design and facilitate a series of Self-Care and Community Care cohorts that ultimately served over 150 leaders across 100+ social justice organizations. Her leadership made it possible for this work to not only exist, but to truly land—supporting BIPOC-led organizations in sustaining themselves through immense collective trauma. What makes Juliet exceptional is not just her vision, but her ability to move that vision through complex systems. She navigates complicated institutional dynamics with remarkable skill—translating community-rooted, equity-centered work in ways that resonate with stakeholders who may be far removed from those realities. This kind of bridge-building is rare, and she does it with integrity, clarity, and deep love and respect for the communities she serves. Our partnership continued through the Washington Immigrant and Refugee Funders Collaborative, where Juliet brought me and another colleague on to co-facilitate a three-day strategic planning retreat for a consortium of major foundations. Together, we supported the group in aligning around shared priorities, strengthening their structure, and grounding their work in equitable, community-informed practices. Juliet’s leadership was instrumental in holding both the strategic rigor and the relational depth required for that process to succeed. Beyond her professional brilliance, Juliet brings a level of humanity that is truly special. She is deeply rooted in her commitments—to her family, including her immigrant parents, and to the broader community through her service on multiple boards. She shows up with humility, humor, and a genuine openness to learning, which makes her not only effective in everything she does, but an absolute joy to work with. Any organization or partner would be incredibly fortunate to work with Juliet. She brings heart, strategy, and a fierce commitment to justice in everything she does.

Juliet is a community-oriented philanthropic leader that understands the work that we need to do in our lifetime, and builds towards that purpose and vision with consistency, integrity and accountability. I have interacted with Juliet for 7 years through the Washington Immigrant and Refugee Collaborative, where we both have held different roles and responsibilities throughout those years. Juliet has participated, led and managed that space to move philanthropic leaders from a place of wanting to support immigrant and refugee communities to a coordinated strategic hub where funders are coming together to co-develop solutions needed to support communities and are leveraging their foundations to do the same. That work requires deep relationships, peer leadership development, and an organizing mindset to enable a whole community of funders to invest their time, partnerships and resources for the well-being and safety of Washington communities.
